Moved by the crises created in the Syrian war, we felt that we had to find a way to help the immediate needs of those less fortunate and so Australian Youth for Amar became a charity organization for all Syrians.

In June 2016, we had our first major Fund Raiser with the determined purpose to raise funds to send to Syria for people who needed help.

Our first donation went to Lebanon to First For The Family who serve under the Langham Bible Society. First For The Family is committed to looking after orphans, widows of fallen soldiers and traumatized teenagers. First For The Family provides housing, food and clothing as well as professional counseling and training so the people under their care will overcome their heartbreaks and have skills to find work. We hope to continue funding this ministry as long as we can.

We are honored to have been able to send alongside other Syrian families funds of $7,000.00 to a young lady from Homs, who has cerebral palsy and needed an urgent operation.

In 2017, our focus shifted to the new Syrian arrivals on Australian soil. The Australian government kindly provided all their needs on arrival but as winter approached, we realized that there was a major need for warm clothing, blankets and heaters.

Australian Youth For Amar provided these necessities to over 300 families. In Australia, we have also financially assisted families with funeral costs and emotional support during the loss of a loved one.

When rebel forces invaded Marhadi the residents of this village took refuge in our village, Amar Al Hosn. The Hadeed Family kindly allowed them to stay at their hotel but the place itself had been ransacked and damaged by vagabonds. AYFA immediately sent over $4,000.00 to clean, repair and provide beds, food and clothing for these families.

In July this year, another $4,000.00 was sent to be distributed amongst the children of martyrs. This was received with much gratitude as these children’s immediate needs were met.

The summer of 2018 has been exceedingly hot so we have found another way to help the new arrivals living in rented properties with providing coolers and portable air conditioners.

We hope to continue to help in all situations where there is a genuine need for help. Australian Youth For Amar is grateful to all our sponsors, partners and our family and friends for the major role they play in all our events to make the giving possible. Our first Fundraiser was a HUGE success, thanks to out dedicated and hardworking sponsors, family and friends. We received an overwhelming number of donated prizes and all who attended participated and gave generously.
